2017 is coming to an end and we can look back to another joint season dealing with the pig businesses in our countries and globally
After some not so good years in many countries we could see some improvements of the economic situation in some countries which continued through most of 2017. Now, the outlook is again less positive, if we can believe the conclusions drawn by various projections and market experts. We are all aware that much of the future development will depend on the Chinese market and demand.
This is one of the reasons why we are planning our 2019 conference in China.
Our conference 2017 took place in Wageningen, Netherlands, jointly between the InterPIG and the agri benchmark groups. We are particularly delighted about the fact that we could agree on a cooperation between the two groups without losing the integrity of the two networks.
Among other interesting topics in the conference, we could show in the comparison between agri benchmark and InterPIG results that figures are similar in a way that in the vast majority of the cases the agri benchmark figures are oscillating around the InterPIG results and if not they can be explained
We would like to thank all of you for your contributions, commitment and friendship this year.
Today we had a talk with Kees de Roest for the planning of the 2018 Conference in Italy.
