Three farms operate wheat cultivation with the system "Conservation Tillage". They are located in Russia, USA and Germany.
To present some typical attributes of these system we take the russian farm as an example.
Featured farm:
RUS7000BS - Central Black Soil Area, Russia
Conservation Tillage
- Reduced, non upturning tillage system with mulch-seed
as an adaption to dryness in early summer and autumn
- Increasing water holding capacity during hot month and to
allow germination of early seeded winter crops
- Application of total herbicide after first stubble
breaking passes possible
- Maintain soil structures and horizons
- Traces of the previous crop remain on top to protect
against erosion and evaporation
