History

The agri benchmark project was founded in 2006 as a cooperation between the FAL Institute of Farm Economics (now vTI) and the German Agricultural Society (DLG).

In the field of beef and cash crops, it is the successor to the International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN), which was founded by FAL in 1997. The dairy sector is covered through a cooperation with the European Dairy Farmers (EDF), managed by DLG. Both the FAL (now vTI) and DLG can look back to many years’ experience in farm level analysis and benchmarking. In the following, a short description of the history and the roots of agri benchmark is given.
