Beef Conference 2008

The Beef Conference 2008 took place in Brasilia and was jointly organised by the Brasilian partner institutions CNA and CEPEA as well as the agri benchmark Centre. The Conference featured a new format which was decided to maintain for the next years:

1 Public day with invited speakers

New countries in this year's exercise are (in alphabetical order) Chile, Colombia, Norway and Peru.

Highlights of the Conference that took place from June 23-26 were:

Farm stories about production systems from selected countries
International comparisons including the new countries
Time series analysis of typical farms
Comparative emission analysis
Workshops on environmental issues and consequences of rising grain and feed prices
Excursions to farms and processors
Invited speakers on environment and climate change, grain markets and Brazilian beef production and export potential
Model training for beginners and advanced users
